Assassin's Creed III is free on Uplay

Today Uplay has Assassin’s Creed III on offer for it’s free game of choice. Due to the high demand of such an offer, the servers for Ubisoft have taken something of a battering. Some are reportedly struggling to obtain their copy of the game right now. There isn’t much need to worry though as the game will be free for a month at least. This is the final offering of the 30th anniversary of Ubisoft, obtainable on their Uplay service immediately. I would suggest keeping an eye on Ubisoft’s social media accounts for updates on how the server is handling the high demand of a free giveaway.

Reports are also in about the state of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Apparently, there are many cases of the game just simply vanishing since the download of Assassin’s Creed III. It is an odd situation that is being dealt with immediately by Ubisoft.  The issue is separate, but there is the likelihood that the two link together. There is yet to be a definite reason for why any of this is happening. Owners of the game are already noting that the game has again appeared in their libraries fortunately. This shows that Ubisoft must be on the case as we speak, with a fix surely not too far away. However for now it would probably be best to keep an eye on updates regarding any problems.

For anyone interested in gaining the last generous offering from Ubisoft’s 30th anniversary celebration, there are a few easy steps. Just head on over to Uplay here (and create an account if needed) to then download the game directly from the home page. It’s always annoying to see inconvenient problems with downloads, but hey free game, right?
