For a few weeks now, I have been using the Eluktronics P670RP6 gaming laptop, and I am very happy with it so far. I’ve got what I look for in a gaming laptop: decent performance and gameplay for an inexpensive price. The Eluktronics P670RP6 is definitely worth every buck. Today, I give you my personal review on this stunning gaming laptop.
- Intel Core i7-6700HQ 2.6 GHz
- 16GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM
- 1 TB RPM HD, 512 GB SSD
- 17.3-inch Full HD, Nvidia
- Windows 10, GeForce GTX 1060
What I like about it:
The Eluktronics P670RP6 simply handles each game I’ve thrown at it to date at maximum settings (the 1080p resolution) without any drawbacks and sweat. It is due to the fact that it has a desktop-grade GTX 1060 inside, powering it up to the all-out level. When compared to the earlier generations of gaming laptops’ NVIDIA GPUs, the GTX 1060 is in a new absolute class of its own.
It packs a quad-core hyperthreaded i7-6700HQ central processor unit. Quite enough CPU horsepower for heavy games straight away, and possibly for games within the next few years to be introduced. Additionally, it is nice for different tasks like video and composite editing, advanced programming and various data processing (I myself use this gaming laptop for college projects that involve processing comparatively massive amounts of information sets). It lives four to five hours of battery life a day for non-gaming functions. I have certainly not tried gaming while not plugged into the power source as it is not recommended, apart from using it for general purposes, the gaming laptop can last right long for a power-hungry computer. Runs fairly cool while gaming. My former gaming laptop would smash 90+ degree Celsius on each the central processor and GPU while gaming, however, the P650RP6 keeps cool and quiet while in load (fans’ noise are still perceptible however not worrisome), never surpassing 76 degree Celsius on each the CPU and GPU. Colorful RGB Keyboard. Not an enormous advantage, however, it is pretty cool, particularly since I can customize the keyboard to illuminate in a wide selection of patterns.
Astoundingly, it is Virtual Reality capable. I have not in person tried and tested this out nonetheless however on paper this gaming laptop ought to be equipped to handle VR play with the GTX 1060 unit. Affordable, yet jam-packed performance. While there are greater and stronger gaming laptops out there, they’re significantly overpriced, and few pack a GTX 1060 or heavy-duty GPU for this value. I bought the $1400 model with 8GB RAM, SSD of 128GB, and 1TB hard drive; it makes a lot of economic sense to shop for the most cost effective structure and replace or upgrade the SSD and RAM as needed. The speakers are suitably positioned close to the screen right in front of the user. A far better style than the usual bottom-mounted speakers that could be a pretty common laptop style nowadays. Absolutely solid build quality. The Eluktronics P670RP6 gaming laptop feels really solid and rigid while using and even transporting it. Truly, build and portability at its finest.
What I don’t like about it:
The trackpad is alright, however not that nice. For a first-class gaming laptop, I was anticipating for a lot of customizable or fluid responsiveness trackpad. I wasn’t wishing Apple laptops level of trackpad superiority, but my former Windows laptop (at $650) had a more full-bodied designed trackpad. Also, I’d oftentimes activate the trackpad inadvertently while typing, even after I set the trackpad delay in Windows Settings to maximum. It may not be a deal-breaker since most gaming or gameplays are done with either a mouse or controller, but it definitely could add to a negative experience. I can see fingerprints everywhere. The brushed aluminum texture on the surface and around the keyboard there is a fingerprint magnet. No huge deal but simply annoying, as I can see all my fingerprints all over the surface when touching it.
Verdict on the Eluktronics P670RP6
Overall, the Eluktronics P670RP6 is a great gaming laptop. It does not have major drawbacks or disadvantages, it is all a user’s preference whether its features or specifications turn into pros or cons. It absolutely runs like a champ and has a decent selection if what you are looking for a performance at an affordable value.
